**AquaSim**

By Aquastructures. AquaSim analysis and simulation software is a finite element tool for the calculation and real-time simulation of structural response of slender, light-weight constructions, flexible configurations and coupled systems of various elements exposed to environmental loads. AquaSim handles global analysis and interactions of forces transmitted between stiff and flexible components. AquaSim establishes simultaneously a visual simulation of displacements, accelerations and deformations in the structure, and calculates for each step the local section forces, stresses and stress ranges in each system component, applicable for local analysis and fatigue assessments.

**ProteusDS**

By Dynamics Systems Analysis. ProteusDS is a finite-element based marine engineering simulation package equipped with a 3D graphical post-processor. ProteusDS is a dynamics analysis software package that is used to test virtual prototypes of many marine, offshore and subsea systems. ProteusDS enables nonlinear time-domain simulation of moorings, risers, pipelines, fish farms, towed bodies, wave energy converters, and much more. ProteusDS makes use of advanced hydrodynamic and finite-element models to achieve accurate results.

**OrcaFlex**

By Orcina. OrcaFlex is a software package for the design and analysis of a wide range of marine systems, including all types of:

- Riser systems: SCRs, TTRs, hybrids, flexibles, umbilicals, hoses.
- Mooring systems: spread, turret, SPM, jetty, etc.
- Installation planning with capabilities across the full range of scenarios.
- Towed systems: bundle dynamics, seismic arrays, towed bodies, etc.
- Defence, marine renewables, seabed stability and many other types of system.

**MOSES**

By Ultramarine. MOSES is a software for Marine Simulation, and is a complete offshore engineer's toolbox. It has advanced features for modeling, hydrostatics and processing, and has extensive libraries and possibilities for connector elements, hydrodynamic theories and anaysis types.

**Sesam**

By DNV, co-developed with MARINTEK-SINTEF. Sesam is a time domain simulation program for multibody systems allows non-linear effects to be included in the wave-frequency range. Flexible modelling of stationkeeping forces and connecting force mechanisms (anchor lines, ropes, thrusters) is included. The results from the program are presented as time traces, statistics and spectral analysis of all forces and motions of all bodies in the analysed system.

**WAMIT**

By WAMIT Inc. WAMIT is a computer program based on frequency domain and linear second-order potential theory for analyzing floating or submerged bodies, in the presence of ocean waves. The boundary integral equation method (BIEM), also known as the panel method, is used to solve for the velocity potential and fluid pressure on the submerged surfaces of the bodies. Separate solutions are carried out simultaneously for the diffraction problem, giving the effects of incident waves on the body, and the radiation problems for each of the prescribed modes of motion of the bodies. These solutions are then used to obtain the relevant hydrodynamic parameters including added-mass and damping coefficients, exciting forces, response-amplitude operators (RAO's), the pressure and fluid velocity, and the mean drift forces and moments.
